YAEL BORGER
Yael Borger is a multimedia artist whose expressive ways of creating art allow her to portray her feelings and emotions through a variety of mediums, allowing her to step beyond her comfort zone. Borger has participated in physical and online exhibitions: Locked In: Life in a Pandemic in 2021, and Unpacked at Courtyard Arts, Hertford in 2022. The artist is captivated by the subconscious mind and portrays emotion in different ways. She predominantly uses acrylic paint on a variety of 2D/3D surfaces to explore her personal experiences, emotions and daily life. She uses sculpture, video, digital, painting and installations as part of her art practice.
Her current installation, Breaking Through, allows the viewer to experience multiple realities through both being in the space and looking into the mirrors below. Two changing coloured flood lights are aimed at the umbrellas from opposite sides on the floor. The viewer is encouraged to walk around the installation to be immersed by their own emotional thoughts with the changing lighting, provoking different moods. The installation centres around the themes of sheltering oneself from their past as well as expressing inner thoughts and emotions through hand gestures.
