JENNIFER HAVERSON

Jennifer Haverson studied visual communications with illustration in Aberdeen. After a 10-year break from higher education and a career as a publican, she has since pursued a BA hons degree in Fine Art at the University of Hertfordshire and means to go on to achieve an MA in Art Therapy at the same institution.

A found object and plaster sculptor as well as painter, Haverson has been working as a commission mural painter and freelance artist throughout her degree. She has participated in exhibitions including Unpacked at Courtyard Arts, Hertford and The Works 2022 Degree Show at the University of Hertfordshire. The artist also has commission work displayed in local junior schools across Hertfordshire.

The artist's aim is to build a bridge between myth and reality, history and the contemporary - an exploration of macrocosmic time, exposing the dark underbelly of modern culture.

The artist's work is designed to grow organically into the space it occupies, being both part of the structure architecturally but also jarring and conspicuous on its surface. It reflects the idea of moral consequence passed down through folklore and tradition that sits at the core of our human foundations.
